St Andrews' Famous Cheese Toasties

"I visited the Cheesy Toast Shack on a recent visit to Scotland and St Andrews in late October. This place is said to have a good reputation and I’ve seen suggestions for it on social media so I thought I’d pay it a visit. The eatery is located close to East Sands nearby to the kiddies play area and the beach. I visited on a Saturday lunch time and could tell that it was a popular place with the amount of people queuing to place an order and waiting to collect their food. I believe each toastie is made to order therefore you can expect a short wait. From joining the queue to receiving my toastie it took about 20 minutes for me but during the height of summer you could expect it may be longer. The price of the toastie is £7.50 but I would definitely say it’s good value for money as it was quite large and I had trouble finishing it all! I opted for the mac n cheese one which looked really good but perhaps a little too cheesy even for me! They also serve breakfast rolls and a selection of hot and cold drinks. The staff were friendly and polite when taking my order and payment was either by cash or card. There is also some outdoor seating if you’re brave enough to eat it without a seagull nabbing it from you! This is certainly a popular food spot and from my experience I would recommend anyone to pop by and give it a try!"

"The perfect Scotland beach experience. Everybody told us when you come to St. Andrews. You must eat a toasty near the beach. We did and we don’t regret it. They are delicious and they taste about the way that they look cheesy crunchy and tons of flavor. Figure out the front counter tremendous customer service. All students from the local university. Will definitely recommend this place and come back the next time we’re here. It is very popular so there will be a line. Just be patient because it the weight is worth it. The milkshakes are delicious so are the pastries. The view is tremendous and completely worth the chilly day to eat a toasty near the beach."

"Like it says on the packet… DAMN fine toasties! Visited for a coffee and bite to eat while shooting in St Andrews and found myself in cheese toasty heaven! I went for the Red Leicester, which was fully loaded with (funnily enough) Red Leicester cheese, chilli jam, chorizo and rocket. Absolutely delicious. Warm and friendly service - even from the seagulls who kindly stayed away. Can’t recommend The Cheesy Toast Shack enough. If you’re in St Andrews, go here!"

Staff are so Friendly and welcoming Several items and specials There is 'seagulls insurance' which is £1 and goes to charity They will replace your toastie if it get stolen by a seagull Plus it is so NEEDED BECAUSE THE SEAGULL are vicious Two car parks near the shack"

"This is a must visit, the toasties are incredible. Stopped by on a recent road trip after hearing so many people rave about it and it was so so good! Such a cute place with super friendly staff. The mac cheese toastie is out of this world and the portion size is huge! Can't wait to come back! 😊"
